Obama’s inaugural speech

(some parts)

People hate us. At this time, on this day, they really hate us. Well, actually, they hate you; they quite like me (louder cheers).

So we will have to change to meet a changed world – again I’m talking about you here. It’s you they hate. This will not be easy, or quick, but maybe as they get to see more of me, they’ll start to like you.

terrorist fanatics are out to destroy and we are funding them with our addiction to oil

There is no sunny side of the street, no silver lining (murmurs of: ‘I never thought I’d see the day’). At home, I have nothing to offer you but doom, gloom, depression and recession (cries of ‘O-bama, O-bama’).

We get through these crises not because of the skill or vision of our leaders, but because of the quality of our people. So if we don’t get through this crisis, it’s down to you. We need a new era of responsibility

Yours are the jobs I must sacrifice to save the planet. Yours are the taxes I must raise to save the economy, and yours are the lives I must forgo to keep our nation safe (cries of ‘Hallelujah’). Are you listening to me at all? Thank you. God bless America.
